Introduction to the Active Temperature Control Process

In order to correct molding defects, such as weld lines or splay, we usually have to modify molds, adjust process conditions, or paint to hide the defects. All of these measures can increase the cost of the molded product. To solve these problems, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Plastic Technology Co. has developed a highly improved rapid temperature control process called the "Active Temperature Control System". This system is very easy to operate and stable enough to enable continuous molding of non-defective parts by eliminating weld lines and splay and improving pattern transfer over conventional rapid mold temperature control systems. With our system you can attain high quality, mass production of injection molded parts.

Advantages of the Active Temperature Control Process

  • Weld lines are eliminated
  • Improved pattern transfer
  • Splay is eliminated
  • Painting process to hide defects is eliminated
  • High gloss surface is possible
  • No exposure of glass fibers
  • Material flow is improved

System Features

  1. Improved product quality: The injection and mold temperature conditions can be adjusted by monitoring the actual mold temperature.
  2. Process improvement: Molding stability is achieved by the control accuracy of an electric injection machine.
  3. Easy setting of molding conditions: All operations of the mold temperature controller are carried out by the molding machine.
  4. User friendly operation: All parameters, including the mold temperature settings, can be saved and restored by the machine controller.
