Large em Series Energy Efficiency

Because the Large em Series is designed with all moving functions controlled by AC servo motors, the machines are extremely energy efficient. In addition, by using the on-demand "Eco-Servo" hydraulic system which is driven by two AC serco motors, the Mitsubishi em Series retains the energy saving benefits of fully electric, toggle type machines while providing the advantage of the short footprint of a hydo-mechanical two-platen machine.

The below graphs show a comparison of energy consumption during an actual molding cycle and demonstrates the large difference in energy consumption between the hydraulic machine and the em Series. Typical energy savings are in the 40 to 60% range. As with all electric machines, energy savings are closely related to cycle times.

Aside from the obvious environmental benefits provided by conserving energy, the Large em Series also helps the environment by using less water, producing more good parts which means less scrap parts introduced into the waste stream, smaller quantities of hydraulic fluid, and lower noise providing for a better working environment.
